Little Rascals
Busfrön for little and big garden adventurers!
Gardening together with children and grandchildren is both fun and educational. Sweet peas are especially well suited to little gardeners: they’re easy to grow, grow quickly, and even the smallest hands can join in and help.
But what exactly are Busfrön?
“Busfrö” is an affectionate Swedish word for a mischievous, playful child – a little rascal. At the same time, frö is the Swedish word for “seed”. And that’s the little play on words behind our Busfrön: a bit mischievous, a bit surprising – and every bit as high-quality as our other seeds.
When counting and packing our seed packets, we occasionally end up with a few leftover seeds or different varieties get mixed together. Since sweet pea seeds often look very similar, we can no longer be completely sure which seed belongs to which variety.
Far too good to throw away, we think! So instead, these seeds get a second chance as Busfrön.
Each packet contains a colourful surprise mix of different sweet pea varieties. Which colours are hiding inside? You’ll only find out when they bloom! A little garden adventure for curious young growers – and grown-ups too.
Our book “A World of Sweet Peas” also includes a whole chapter on gardening with children, with a child-friendly growing guide and tips from Pom, the little rascal of the Flower Power family.
Each packet of Busfrön contains 15 seeds and costs a little less than our regular varieties – but the joy of sowing, growing and discovering is every bit as big!
