Should we spend the entire autumn waiting for spring?
Chrysanthemums were once a natural way to continue the growing year after summer flowers. Chrysanthemums were grown far north in Sweden to provide flowers during autumn. They bloom with just a little daylight all the way until Christmas.
As usual, there are plenty of varieties and a history stretching back more than 3000 years, with a sea of knowledge to dive into.
We have found exciting varieties in Southern Europe and England that we have both tested, killed, and managed to keep alive. Chrysanthemums truly have the potential to become a new, fun cultivation area for those who love flowers.
As if that weren't enough, we'd also like to serve some pansies for dessert. Or 'pensamiento' as they are called in Mexico.
Towards late summer, we will start offering pansy seeds. Not just any, of course, but delightfully ruffled varieties with Italian ancestry. Or rather, Swedish ancestry.
We would love to teach you how to grow these delights and also tell you more about their Swedish history.
In addition to a lovely lunch and knowledge, you'll take home plants and seeds. We've also just returned from the Chelsea Flower Show and can tell you a bit about new trends.
The course is led by Cecilia Wingård, who has extensive experience in cultivation and gardening. We welcome you to Brantevik with coffee and a light snack before we begin. During the day, we'll alternate between theory and practical work. We'll discuss plant names and history, soil and fertilizer, temperature, watering, and hardening off. We'll take a well-deserved break and enjoy a lovely 3-course lunch together in the greenhouse.

Care and growing tips
When you receive your seeds, you will always get a folder with pictures and information to read at your leisure. The seeds should not be soaked. Always store the seeds in the freezer, where they will maintain their viability for 50+ years. In other words, you don't need to sow the entire packet at once. Please read our growing advice here

All our seeds are counted and packed by hand in Brantevik, Österlen. All orders are packed in order of receipt and usually shipped the same day at 2 PM. We use Postnord and your seeds will arrive in your mailbox.
Please check that the delivery address is correct before completing your order. Flower Power does not replace shipments that are lost or returned due to incorrect address details.
Once your order has been packed, we will send you a delivery confirmation to the email address you used when placing your order.
